Membership Manager – Full time £18,000pa plus sales bonus

Job Responsibilities:

The Membership Manager is responsible for developing leads, securing members, sales, providing information, retention and account management of new and existing members.


The majority of the role will be office based but visits to members’ premises throughout the county and attendance at Chamber events means that the successful candidate must have their own transport, be prepared to work flexibly and enjoy driving through our beautiful County to meet with interesting and inspiring businesses and .


The Membership Manager will be seen by businesses as a trusted friend and, as this will be a high-profile role within Cornwall, self-motivation, achieving sales targets, an active desire to share information and creative problem solving are essential.

Job Duties:

  • Actively develop effective leads for prospective B2B members by phone, face to face and email, recruiting to targets as set by the Board

  • Respond to telephone and e-mail membership inquiries undertaking site visits if required

  • Inform and educate prospective members on the benefits of Chamber Membership

  • Present approved membership options and prices to prospective members

  • Track and report weekly membership sales

  • Maintain ongoing relationships with members by providing support, information, and guidance, minimising non-renewal of membership

  • Develop relationships and encourage member referrals

  • Prepare reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information

  • Maintain a quality service by establishing and enforcing organisation standards

  • Support the organisation of Membership Events

  • Contribute to team effort by being a trusted and valued colleague

  • Attend Networking events on behalf of Cornwall Chamber of Commerce and represent the Chamber effectively and professionally at meetings

The successful candidate will also be passionate about Cornwall and want to help businesses to succeed and thrive.

Must be a driver with a clean driving license and own car.

Must be literate and numerate.

Our office is based in Redruth although we cover the whole of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The working day is 9.00am to 5.00pm (37 hours per week), although some early morning/late evening work is required for events for which time off in lieu is offered.
